You've been Gruber'd, Stupid!

In one scandal after another, Obama would have us believe he knew nothing. That is the response one might expect from a criminal rather than a President.

You've been Gruber'd, Stupid!

“No.  I -- I did not.  Uhhh, I just heard about this... I -- I get well briefed before I come out here.  Uh, th-th-the fact that some advisor who never worked on our staff, uhh, expressed an opinion that, uhh, I completely disagree with wuh, uhh, in terms of the voters, is no reflection on the actual process that was run.” -- President Obama replying to a question about Jonathan Gruber at the conclusion of the G-20 Conference in Brisbane, Australia.

Praying or Not on the Temple Mount

The politics of Islam prevent Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount, the holiest place in Judaism.

Praying or Not on the Temple Mount

The Palestinians never lose an opportunity or excuse to kill Jews. What is feared is a new intifada or holy war in Israel, specifically in Jerusalem, where attacks on its civilians and soldiers have been occurring. The present grievance has to do with the Temple Mount, the holiest place in Judaism, but one that was taken over by Muslims when they invaded in 638 A.D.

Obama Declares an Amnesty War

Written by Alan Caruba on Monday, 17 November 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

Obama has never liked Congress. He seems to resent having to share governing power with it. He is about to launch an amnesty war as a way of acting out his resentment.

Obama Declares an Amnesty War

The same mindset that could conspire to foist ObamaCare on Americans by deception is at work to do the same thing with an unconstitutional, unilateral announcement of amnesty for millions of illegal—oops, “undocumented”—aliens living in America.

Obama's Cruel and Costly Climate Hoax

Written by Alan Caruba on Friday, 14 November 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

A cruel and costly climate hoax is being perpetrated by President Obama and, in particular, by the Environmental Protection Agency. The new Congress must take whatever action it can to reverse and stop the harm that it represents.

Obama's Cruel and Costly Climate Hoax

The intense cold that many Americans are encountering arrives more than a month before the official start of winter on December 21.

Being Anti-Energy is Being Anti-Humanity

Written by Alan Caruba on Friday, 14 November 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

At the heart of environmentalism and its “save the Earth” agenda is the reduction, if not the elimination, of humans from planet Earth.

Being Anti-Energy is Being Anti-Humanity

Everything you need to know about how perverse and dangerous the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is summed up in its latest report. Released on November 2, it issued the same tired, old and untrue claims of “severe, pervasive and irreversible impacts for people and ecosystems”

China! China! China!

Written by Alan Caruba on Friday, 14 November 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

Conventional wisdom says China is the nation of the future. Size, politics, and demographics suggest that the Eastern dragon is not so strong as widely believed.

China! China! China!

For two days there was the usual news and analysis about President Obama’s summit meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. We are going to hear that China will bump the U.S. from first place among the great economies of the world, challenge us in Asia, and will be the next great global power.

Voters Reject the Green Political Agenda

Written by Alan Caruba on Tuesday, 11 November 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

As far as the environment is concerned, it is way down on the list of the voter’s priorities and the change of leadership and control of Congress reflects that.

Voters Reject the Green Political Agenda

What the midterm voters wanted was an economy that returned to its average 3.3 percent annual growth since the end of World War II. For six years of the Obama presidency, growth has all but disappeared. In 2013, as measured by the World Bank, it was barely 1.9 percent That translated into a lack of jobs, stagnant middle-class income, and what Obama correctly called the Great Recession, but could not end.

Obama's Obsession with Iran

The Obama administration's foreign policy is one that will result in Iran getting the bomb.

Obama's Obsession with Iran

On November 4, 1979 as part of the Iranian revolution that overthrew the Shah, a group of “students” seized the U.S. embassy in Tehran and took sixty of our diplomats hostage. They held them for 444 days until the day Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President. Every year since then Iran has celebrated that date as a national holiday. What does that tell you about how its leaders really feel about America?

Israel Has Found New Allies

Written by Alan Caruba on Tuesday, 11 November 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

If anyone, some years ago, had predicted that two leading Muslim nations would find ample reason to ally with Israel, they would likely have been laughed out of the room, but it is today’s reality.

Israel Has Found New Allies

Let’s just say it up front and avoid tip-toeing around with politically correct language. President Obama and his administration are the most anti-Israel to have held office and likely the most anti-Semitic. Forget about his public declarations of friendship and support for Israel. For six years Obama has demonstrated his antipathy toward the only democratic nation in the Middle East, the Jewish state.

Obama's Revenge

Written by Alan Caruba on Friday, 07 November 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

How will President Obama react to the electoral drubbing handed to the Democrats?

Obama's Revenge

The Democratic Party that supported President Obama’s agenda for the past six years was dramatically rejected in the midterm elections and the message for the new Republican-controlled Senate and House is to aggressively take action on stalled legislation to improve the economy and address other issues that have suffered neglect.

Exposing the Green Money Machine

Written by Alan Caruba on Friday, 07 November 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

"Cracking Big Green," by authors Paul Driessen and Ron Arnold, gives a startling look into the staggering financial resources behind the environmentalist propaganda machine.

Exposing the Green Money Machine

It is doubtful that most Americans and others around the world know how vast the organizational structure of the environmental movement is and how much wealth it generates for those engaged in an agenda that would drag humanity back to the Stone Age.

Why Vote?

Candidates and the policies they support do matter. Not voting is to concede victory to those who you don’t support.

Why Vote?

Every election is “the most important” for the simple reason that it has the potential of making our lives better or worse.

Passionate About Conservatism

Conservatives often feel outnumbered because of the incessant cacophony of the liberal media. But a new book by the "Chicks on the right" reminds that conservatism is popular (as well as right).

Passionate About Conservatism

We conservatives tend to be rather low key when it comes to expressing our commitment to conservative values. We are all about the Constitution, small government, a strong military, and fiscal prudence, but these are not things that are easy to talk about in a passionate way, no matter how strongly we feel about them.

Obama's War on U.S. Energy

Written by Alan Caruba on Tuesday, 28 October 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

Wondering why the US economy still seems so fragile? Part of the answer is the Obama administration's relentless war on energy.

Obama's War on U.S. Energy

September 19th was an anniversary you did not read or hear about in the nation’s news media. It marked six years—2008—since the first permit application for the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline was submitted to the federal government. Can you imagine how many jobs its construction would have created during a period of recovery from the 2008 financial crisis? President Obama is universally credited with delaying it.

The Islamic Madness Persists

Written by Alan Caruba on Friday, 24 October 2014. Posted in Opinion, Alan Caruba

The Middle East is a boiling cauldron, with millions of refugees, aggressive terrorist organizations, and nation-states with dangerously high stakes.

The Islamic Madness Persists

The lull in the coverage of all things Islamic was broken by two terrorist attacks in Canada, a reminder that so long as the world does not unite to destroy the Islamic State, we shall all remain vulnerable. A “lone wolf” terrorist can kill you just as dead as one in a terrorist organization, particularly one encouraging these attacks.
