Be Afraid Liberals, Be Very Afraid …

The liberal-progressive program, supposedly designed to "help" people, has had the opposite effect. Now, its victims may be turning against their liberal "benefactors."

Be Afraid Liberals, Be Very Afraid …

Former UK Prime Minister Harold Wilson once famously remarked:

“A week is a long time in politics.”

How about six months?

I wrote an article last August which had the title Bitter Sweet: Facing the Economic Precipice. At that time Mr. Obama was still attempting to be the President of the United States of America. The point of the article was to say that if you put someone into a job for which he or she is totally unqualified, don’t be too surprised with the result.

At the time I felt sympathetic towards him and the plight he was in. I wish now I hadn’t bothered. Since then he has given up trying to be President and concentrated on doing the only thing he can do well – raise support and campaign funds from his respectively uninformed and useful idiot “base”.

Given the long list of things which have gone wrong in the last six months one can only wonder why he, his own party or the country would possibly want him for another term?

His latest gaffe with Dmitry Medvedev displayed political ineptitude and naivety of the highest order — made worse by his justification of it. Whatever happened to negotiating from a position of strength?

Could he, of all people, have forgotten Alinsky’s first rule of power tactics?

Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.

Putin must be laughing his head off while Reagan must be turning in his grave.

Mr. Obama should have gone into the movie business. I think he would have made it to the top. He has the three qualities which most great actors possess. First he has the looks, second he has the voice and third, when he tries to speak off-script, he is an embarassment.

We cringe between pauses.

Stuttering and vacant — prone to off-the-cuff errors of judgement.

Revealing.

Can you imagine him at something like Prime Minister’s Question Time in the UK?

He’d be torn to shreds.

The same goes for the people he has surrounded himself with. People like Biden, Pelosi and Holder. How could people of this calibre have ever reached such high office?

And the President himself?

Some huge questions — the answers to which hardly inspire confidence.

Just how could such an indifferent student make it to Columbia and then Harvard?

Answer:

“I must say, however, that as someone who has undoubtedly benefited from affirmative action programs during my academic career, and as someone who may have benefited from the Law Review’s affirmative action policy when I was selected to join the Review last year, I have not felt stigmatized within the broader law school community or as a staff member of the Review.”— Barack Obama.

As for his background in community organizing, academia and politics, just what were his achievements? What boosted him from nowhere and nothing to the White House?

Answer:

“He made a speech.” — Hillary Clinton.

Let’s put some fat on this:

“ … [A] junior black senator delivered an impressive speech at the Democratic National Convention [July 27, 2004]. Eureka! Let’s run a black guy! Who would dare criticize America’s first black presidential candidate?

“Obama was perfect! Talk about a shoe-in to win! Joe Biden called him “clean and articulate.” Liberal media educated by leftist professors did everything in their power to protect their liberal black candidate. Obama bypassed the usual vetting process of one applying for the position of Leader of the Free World.

“Ninety-six percent of black voters flocked to the polls, willfully ignorant or purposely ignoring who Obama was as a person …

“Naïve whites enthusiastically voted for “the black guy,” thinking they could never be called racists again. Media duped clueless youths into making Obama an American Idol.” — Lloyd Marcus.

And what a fiasco it has turned out to be.

A very long trail of one cock-up after another. Too many to list here.

Can it get any worse?

Of course it can.

There’s still six months of it to go!

Oh no!

Oh yes. And while Mr. Obama may have forgotten about Alinsky’s first rule of power tactics, he’s sticking steadfastly to the second:

Never go outside the expertise of your people.

What “expertise” you may wonder?

More like “unconcious incompetence” i.e. clueless!

The most recent and laughable example of this was Steven Chu awarding himself a grade ‘A’ for his performance as Secretary of Energy!

Mr. Obama will be kicked out of office this year.

I recall Mitt Romney saying, at the the beginning of his current campaign, that the days when someone could make it to the White House without having cut it in the private sector were over.

Thanks to the current administration this pronouncement has become a truism.

So … has any good come out of Mr. Obama’s term to date?

Well, call me an optimist, but I like to think every cloud has a silver lining — or to put it another way — “'tis an ill wind that blows nobody any good”.

How about the growth in the number of openly conservative African-Americans?

Especially amongst African-American women.

Long overdue if anything — but it took a black man in the White House before they broke ranks and went against “one of their own” — if that’s how you can describe him?

They understand, better than any, what has gone wrong — they’ve been at the sharp end of it for the last forty years — watching their families disentegrate before their very eyes.

“The black family—which survived slavery, discrimination, poverty, wars and depressions—began to come apart as the federal government moved in with its well-financed programs to ‘help’. ”— Thomas Sowell.

And just to drive the point home:

“Most of the major problems that many black people face are not amendable to political solutions and government anti-poverty programs … In 1940, 86 percent of black children were born inside marriage … Today, only 35 percent of black children are born inside marriage … Today's breakdown of the black family is unprecedented. It began in the 1960s with the War on Poverty and the harebrained ideas of the welfare state.” — Walter Williams – 2009.

It is the influence of these women which will drain the Left and swell the Center — it is their influence which will finally bring about the beginning of the end of the disastrous “Great Society” pipe dream.

And there’s plenty of these women in the thick of it right now — like Angela McGlowan, Star Parker, Frances Rice and Deneen Borelli — and let’s not forget Michelle Malkin. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind being included here.

I know it would never happen, but imagine her as White House spokeswoman — her encounters with the liberal media would be simply delicious — addictive viewing to be sure.

The vitriol and hate which these and other women have had to face is hard to believe — that fact that most of it comes from African-American men is not.

If they think these women are going to back down out of fear and intimidation, they just don’t understand the courage and determination it took for them to stand up in the first place and say, “Enough is enough!”.

Be afraid you liberals, be very afraid, these ladies are not for turning.

The fight, for them, has only just begun.
