Here Comes the Switch, Don’t Take the Bait

Written by Donald Hank on Wednesday, 15 May 2013. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

Some Democrats are seeming to defend conservatives and to criticize Obama in the wake of scandal. This, though, is likely a political tactic, rather than a true change of heart.

Here Comes the Switch, Don’t Take the Bait

Two items of interest today.

Item 1

Mark Zuckerberg wants more immigrants to work cheap in his air conditioned sweat shops. He has founded FWD.us, a front org for his pro-immigration plans and is partnering with false 'conservative' group Americans for a Conservative Direction.

Will the ‘Collegiality Effect’ Bring Down Obama?

Written by Donald Hank on Tuesday, 14 May 2013. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

On Benghazi, some members of the mainstream press are starting to turn on Obama. Could it be that in the treatment of the victims of Benghazi they see the administration attacking their peers?

Will the ‘Collegiality Effect’ Bring Down Obama?

Recently, CBS executive Jonathan Karl went on the Bill O’Reilly show and did something unprecedented. He sided with the conservative viewpoint that there was indeed lying and obfuscation in the highest echelons of the Obama administration in the Benghazi aftermath. He discussed frankly how the State Department talking points had been revised beyond recognition, from the initial admission (by the CIA) that the Benghazi attack was a well planned terror attack to a fictitious narrative of a spontaneous demonstration over an anti-Muslim video.

Rand Paul Discovers “Security Concerns”

Written by Donald Hank on Friday, 26 April 2013. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

Immigration reform is a complex and thorny issue, made more so by security questions that are being raised, now by Rand Paul and others, in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Rand Paul Discovers “Security Concerns”

Sen. Rand Paul, who serves on a committee called Homeland Security and Government Affairs, just now woke up and realized that an immigration reform bill of the kind he was touting a few weeks ago, needs to take national security concerns into account. He now backtracks with the following statement:

The Reprobate Keynesian Mind

Written by Donald Hank on Wednesday, 03 April 2013. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

We live in the world Keynes built. Given that Keynes' mind was warped and twisted, is it any surprise that a world governed by his system of economics is depraved and in decline?

The Reprobate Keynesian Mind

I recently had a stimulating discussion with a UK pastor regarding the imminent legalization of a radical new definition of marriage, which for 5000 years, in over 600 languages and dialects, has always referred to a union between a man and a woman. True, some cultures have included polygamous marriages in this definition, but still, marriage was never between members of the same sex. The suggestion of such a union had always been regarded as unnatural.

A Fall-back Plan for States

Written by Donald Hank on Monday, 24 September 2012. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

Bailouts, from central governments to subsidiary states, serve as a means to ensure that subsidiary states fall in line with preferred central government policy. In the U.S., should they occur, such bailouts would completely undermine federalism.

A Fall-back Plan for States

Tyler Durden, a crack analyst at zerohedge.com, has noted some activity in at least one fiscally irresponsible state, Illinois, that suggests states may someday be demanding, and getting, bailouts from the Federal government. I think he is right. I have long been waiting for California or any of its bankrupt cities to do just that and am surprised it has not yet happened.

Unlawful Bailouts Occurring Throughout the Western World

Written by Donald Hank on Wednesday, 12 September 2012. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

Is the ongoing Great Recession the financial equivalent of a natural disaster or a man-made one? The answer is the latter, and it, and the plunder of the poor and middle class that followed, was intended from the beginning.

Unlawful Bailouts Occurring Throughout the Western World

Those who aren't aware of the skullduggery going on in the EU may be less prepared to accept the fact of a worldwide conspiracy to steal from the poor (middle class) and give to the rich (bankers). They may think this is purely a U.S. phenomenon and that U.S. economic/financial conditions have forced the hand of government to take tax payer money to bail out banks--to save us all.

American Dirge

Written by Donald Hank on Tuesday, 11 September 2012. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

If we step back from day-to-day concerns and view the state of Western civilization objectively, it is apparent that we are in the midst of a great crisis. Can Americans muster the moral courage to end the descent into chaos?

American Dirge

On September 8, an article by Davos Sherman Okst at Financial Sense, titled “Why We Are Totally Finished” laid out why we are finished as a nation. To put it succinctly, we no longer have that now-obsolete self-purging system called capitalism, which weeds out failed businesses. It has been supplanted by what that author calls corporatocracy (my European friends call it corporatism).

Germans Looking For Euro Exit?

Written by Donald Hank on Thursday, 06 September 2012. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

Europe's future looks increasingly dim, with speculation in Germany that Great Britain should leave the EU and with green pressure groups calling for ill advised major investments in questionable green energy initiatives.

Germans Looking For Euro Exit?

The online journal German Foreign Policy recently ran an article based in turn on an article in an influential professional journal. While German Foreign Policy’s web site does include an English language section, this article did not seem to have been translated. The excerpts below are my translations:

QE3, a Little Hair of the Dog That Bit You

Written by Donald Hank on Monday, 03 September 2012. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

Monetary inflation is an addiction and the Fed under Ben Bernanke is just looking for an excuse to pour more devalued dollars down the economy's throat.

QE3, a Little Hair of the Dog That Bit You

Ben Bernanke said yesterday he is in the mood to print more money now. He claims 25 million unemployed is a "tragedy" and he can't sit idly by any more and watch the economic carnage. 24.5 million was acceptable, but this is just too much and Super Ben is suiting up in the phone booth again, this time for QE3. For an injection of inflated dollars into your money supply, like adding water to the soup to feed some unexpected guests. What else can we do?

The Importance of the Rule of Law

Written by Donald Hank on Thursday, 23 August 2012. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

The rule of law has been supplanted, particularly in the banking industry, by arbitrary ideological policy. Economic security and national security in general, requires a return to dedication to the rule of law.

The Importance of the Rule of Law

Economists are starting to wake up to the fact that lawlessness has been endemic in US government financial policy for a long time.

Cloudy and Scattered Rioting in France

Written by Donald Hank on Thursday, 16 August 2012. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

Rioting in France has a disturbing character and, what's worse, it seems to be becoming an annual event. Could it happen here?

Cloudy and Scattered Rioting in France

Yes, I know. Why even mention it? In France, it’s like talking about the weather. The talking heads in the videos linked below are reporting that the riots in Amiens Nord were caused by “young people.” But those who recall the Paris riots a while back know that, when speaking of rioters, the media, not only in France, but everywhere, use the words “young people” when referring to Muslim immigrants, whose name they dare not utter.

All Three Parties Want Poverty for the U.S.

Written by Donald Hank on Wednesday, 08 August 2012. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

The most important factor in the success of a nation is the degree to which it respects the rule of law, rather than the arbitrary whim of man. As the U.S. abandons the rule of law, we see a corresponding decrease in our national wellbeing.

All Three Parties Want Poverty for the U.S.

The below-linked report shows that of all factors studied, the one most strongly correlated with GDP, or national wealth, is strength of the rule of law.

Bitter Fruits of the "Democracy Movement" in Egypt

Obama said "leave now" to Mubarak, one of the few secular, Christian-tolerant leaders in the Middle East, and what is happening in Egypt today, now that Mubarak obeyed the "president of the world" should be no surprise to anyone.

Why the West is Deliberately Failing

The ills of Western Civilization seem poised to submerge the world in economic chaos and cultural darkness. To understand our plight, we must turn to Paul.

Why the West is Deliberately Failing

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so…

Disturbing Trends in the Increase of Race-based Violence

Written by Donald Hank on Wednesday, 11 July 2012. Posted in Opinion, Donald Hank

Tragically, race relations have not improved since President Obama took office. Instead violence is rising with a troubling increase of black youth attacks on other ethnic groups.

Disturbing Trends in the Increase of Race-based Violence

Ever since about the time of the Trayvon Martin incident, I have been receiving regular, roughly daily, forwarded reports of unprovoked attacks by mobs of  “young people” all around the US. A visitor from another planet would certainly infer from these reports that young people are a dangerous mutant subspecies of human and need to be monitored and strictly disciplined.
