Should We Ban Guns or Abortion?

While the White House and Congressional Democrats work themselves into a lather over gun deaths, they have nothing to say about ending the genocide of abortion.

Should We Ban Guns or Abortion?

Vice President Joe Biden has said that the Obama administration is going to take executive (read dictatorial) action to implement gun control.

"The president is going to act," Biden said. "There are executive orders, executive action that can be taken."

The justification for this impending evisceration of the Second Amendment? Quoth Biden: "If our actions result in saving only one life, they're worth taking.”

Arguably, rather than saving lives, taking away guns will result in more death. Recently in Georgia, for example, 32-year-old Atlanta resident Paul Slater broke into a home causing the homeowner and her two children to take refuge in a crawl space. Slater allegedly found the family but was at that point confronted by the homeowner who by then was armed with .38 caliber handgun. She defended herself and her family, shooting the intruder several times, causing him to flee.

Donnie Herman, a grateful husband, praised his wife’s actions. “My wife is a hero. She protected her kids. She did what she was supposed to do as responsible, prepared gun owner," he said.

In this case, a gun saved three lives. Applying Biden’s standard, since a gun was used to save multiple lives, then protecting the Second Amendment is an action very well worth taking.

But big government partisans like Biden, Obama, the vast majority of the Democratic Party and all too many Republicans aren’t actually interested in saving lives. They’re interested, instead, in growing the size and power of government and restricting the rights of citizens.

Consider deaths from abortion versus deaths from firearms homicides.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), in 2009 there were 11,493 firearm homicides in the United States. By comparison, in the same year, according to the CDC, “784,507 legal induced abortions were reported to CDC from 48 reporting areas.”

This number of abortions is hard to fathom. Lets put it into some perspective.

The population of Boston, Massachusetts is 625,087 and the population of Springfield, Massachusetts is 153,060. The total population of these two cities is 778,147. In other words, then, in 2009 abortion took the lives of more people than live in both Boston and Springfield, combined.

And this generational genocide continues year by year.

Based on these statistics, which public policy action, banning guns or banning abortion, will save more lives? Remember, saving just one is important, according to the Vice President.

Banning guns will take weapons out of the hands of law abiding citizens who will thereafter be unable to defend themselves from criminals. Chances are this will lead to more crime, not less, as criminals will have a more docile population to prey upon. The end result will likely be more death by violent crime, rather than less.

By comparison, banning abortion will immediately save 500,000 to 1 million lives per year.

Do we hear Joe Biden, Barack Obama or any of the other Democrats concerned about “saving just one life” railing against the abortion genocide? Nope. Crickets. Or worse, they blather on about the supposed importance of protecting the “right” to kill children by aborting them.

The bottom line is that these big government apparatchiks support wiping out the equivalent populations of Boston and Springfield every year, while simultaneously working to eliminate the Second Amendment rights of all those Americans who managed to escape the abortionist.

Like tyrants everywhere, they are masters of rhetoric and propaganda, but in their policies they seek domination and death.

I'm curious to know the circumstances of the abortions being recorded. Not all abortions or medical procedures listed as abortions are used as birth control or back up birth control. There are many instances where abortion is deemed medically necessary.

The White House issued a press release today that strongly indicates that President Barack Obama will issue an Executive Order in the next few days outlawing Abortions in the United States. Citing statistics showing that over 55 million unborn babies have been murdered since 1974 by abortion, with a current annual murder rate of over 1.2 million babies each year, president Obama says that these murders are unacceptable in a civilized society and he believes he has the legal and moral authority to override the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision as, well as any pro-abortion legislation that has been passed by state legislatures.
“Too many deaths of American babies at the hands of unscrupulous, murderous doctors and their conspirators in abortion mills who make their blood money by feeding at the government funding trough, like Planned Parenthood, are unacceptable. The country must act now to reduce or eliminate these murders” the President said this morning.
The pro-abortion liberals, progressives and socialist in the country are outraged that the president thinks he has the power to issue an Executive order that would overturn Supreme Court decisions, as well be in violation of the woman’s rights guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution.
Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) was outraged by this proposed executive order and said: “I am outraged that the president would even think he had such dictatorial power to even issue an Executive Order on this subject as it would be clearly unconstitutional.” She added “Who does he think he is, Adolph Hitler? He is just our president, not the Fuhrer.”
Another well know Constitutional scholar, Rosie O’Donnell agreed with the President and said: "I don't care if you want an abortion, I don't care if you think it's your right. I say 'Sorry.' it's 2013. We have 1.2 million murders committed by abortion in this country every year and only 14,000 other murders committed by all other means. We have had enough as a nation. You will no longer be allowed to have an abortion, and if you do have one, I think you should go to prison.”
OH! I MADE A MISTAKE. The president may be issuing an unconstitutional Executive Order to limit the people’s constitutional rights to possess guns, not to have an Abortion. What would the socialists say now?
Let’s look at the Murder statistics for the USA.

It is often said that guns, particularly assault rifles, are designed for one thing, and one thing only: to kill lots of people. If we look at the statistics, however, assault rifles in the United States are failing miserably in this purpose. Because the definition of an assault rifle has been rather nebulous, the number can be said to be anywhere from 10 million to 30 million. Of those, the AR-15 type is fairly common with numbers between 5 and 10 million.
The FBI murder statistics do not differentiate between types of rifles. There are about 100 million rifles of all kinds in the United States. In 2011, the last year in which numbers have been reported, there were 14,748 murders in the United States and rifles were used to murder only 352 people. More people were killed by handguns, blunt objects or by physically being beaten to death, than by rifles. Assault rifles are used so infrequently in homicides that many police departments almost never see them; in 2011, there were nine states that did not have a single murder committed with any rifle.
So why is the President and the Democrat-Socialists so intent on banning rifles that are the most suitable for militia use (clearly protected by the U.S. Constitution), when they are used so rarely in murder? Banning hammers, screw drivers and baseball bats would make more sense, yet would be just as stupid.
There were 348 people murdered by rifles and 1.2 million murdered by Abortion Doctors in 2011. Where should the anti-murder effort really be directed. The Democrat-Socialist easily ignore the facts, but the reality is that most ordinary Americans are on to their plan that our government, the socialist politicians and their fellow travelers are working very hard to disarm us in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
The people also understand that Gun Control has less to do with controlling the guns and has everything to do with controlling the people. We, the American people will not give up our guns, because we know what the socialists have in mind for us, if we are disarmed.
