Teen and Stepfather Eaten Alive in Horrific Bear Attack in Russia
A 19-year old girl and her stepfather were killed in Russia after being attacked by a brown bear and her cubs.

In a gruesome twist, victim Olga Moskalyova narrated her own death as the bears ate her alive during three phone calls to her horrified mother. The attack took place in the rugged territory of remote Kamchatka, not far from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
According to London’s Daily Mail, Olga called her mother, Tatiana, as the bear began its attack.
“Mum, the bear is eating me!” she screamed into the phone. “Mum, it’s such agony. Mum, help!”
As the bear attack continued, Tatiana reported that she thought at first the call was a joke. “But then I heard the real horror and pain in Olga’s voice, and the sounds of a bear growling and chewing,” she told the Daily Mail.
The attack began when the bear overpowered and killed Igor Tsyganenkov, Ms. Moskalyova’s stepfather. Witnessing the attack, Olga attempted to escape but the bear caught her by the leg after a short chase.
In a second call, Olga told her mother that the bears had returned, the mother this time bringing its cubs. “Mum, the bears are back,” Olga told her mother. “She came back and brought her three babies. They’re ... eating me.”
In a final call nearly an hour later, Olga told her devastated mother that the bears had left her for dead. She told her mother that she no longer felt pain and that she loved her. Then the call ended.
During the ordeal, Olga’s mother contacted emergency personnel but first responders were not able to reach the location of the attack in time.
According to the Daily Mail, “The double killing is the latest in a spate of bear attacks across Russia, as the hungry animals seek food in areas where people have encroached and settled on their former habitat.”
In response to the killings, local officials sent out hunting parties to attempt to track the killers. The Moscow News reported that the attempt to find and kill the bear was successful.
“Rangers in the forests around the Serebryanaya River tracked down the bear, shooting it and its cubs,” The Moscow News said. “After inspecting the corpses, experts found evidence of human meat inside the predator’s stomach.....”
