Senator Grassley opened his remarks noting the awful assassination of Charlie Kirk at the hands of a leftwing extremist and said that Kirk "was a man of God, faith, family and country." He continued, saying, "I pray for his wife Erika, his children and his whole family. God bless you, Charlie Kirk."

The radicalization of leftist extremists and terrorists has proceeded along several avenues over the years, including through the thoroughly leftist mainstream media and through Marxist university instructors and curricula.

Democratic left-wing political leadership, however, has been a large source of radicalization, using lawfare and censorship to target Republicans, conservatives and Christians while demonizing them through state originated propaganda campaigns.

Combined, these have conributed to the encouragement of escalating violence emanating from the extremist left.

In his opening comments at the FBI oversight hearing on September 16, Grassley revealed additional details about the Biden administration's politically motivated use of the FBI to criminally probe and harass the Trump campaign on the basis of so-called "election denial" in 2020.

Those efforts led to an investigation officially named "Arctic Frost." According to Grassley's latest revelations, Arctic Frost included going after numerous Republican and conservative organizations, including Turning Point USA, the organization led by Charlie Kirk.

"In total, 92 Republican targets, including Republican groups and Republican-linked individuals, were placed under the investigative scope of Arctic Frost," Sen. Grassley revealed. "On that political list was one of Charlie Kirk’s groups, Turning Point USA."

He continued: "Arctic Frost ... was the vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors could achieve their partisan ends and improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus."

The list of Arctic Frost targets identified by FBI documents made public by the Senate Judiciary Committee included:

  • Save America PAC - President Trump's key fundraising platform
  • My Pillow
  • Women for America First
  • Conservative Partnership Institute
  • Trump Make America Great Again Committee
  • America First Policy Institute
  • Turning Point USA or Turning Point Action
  • Tea Party Express
  • Republican Attorneys General Association

The document naming the targets of the investigation, revealed by Grassley, is dated January 23, 2023.

By that time, the document noted, the FBI had already conducted 150 interviews during the investigation, had served over 400 subpoenas, and had executed search warrants for 10 phones including phones for 5 lawyers, 1 U.S. Congressman and 2 White House personnel, along with one search warrant for then former President Trump's Twitter account.
